Heritage Major modules
The following is a list of the major modules in Heritage. Cataloguing, circulations, management/reports and the OPAC are part of the basic Heritage package. The others are optional. Some of the functionality within major modules is also optional e.g. fines.

- Cataloguing: catalogue all types of material: books, DVDs, websites, documents (standard)
- Circulations: issue and return, reserve and chase up overdue items (standard)
- Acquisitions: manage the process of purchasing new items (optional)
- Management and Reports: produce reports and statistics, schedule activities and modify data (standard)
- Heritage Connect: link to other systems to retrieve data e.g. borrower records from administration systems (optional)
- Heritage Online: publishing your catalogue on the Internet (optional)
- Serials Management: journal subscriptions (optional)
- Inter-Library Loans: manages all aspects of ILLs, particularly from the British Library (optional)
- Advanced Bookings: reserve items (or facilities) for a fixed period in the future (optional)
- Quickcat Online: use 16 million British Library, Library of Congress and National Library of Medicine records to speed up cataloguing (optional)
- Heritage Biometrics: links your Heritage system to fingerprint recognition technology for identifying borrowers (optional)
- Fines: automatically apply and escalate fines for overdue items (optional)
- MARC Cataloguing Module: import, create, edit and export MARC 21 records (optional)
- Heritage Self-Service - enables integration with self-issue systems (optional)
